You remember that from “Gladiator”? When Joaquin Phoenix said it all creepy-like? Well, this is totally different than that. We’ve just been so busy doing stuff that our website is lagging bad. So we put up a few new projects.

In the next few weeks, we’ll be producing the GoldRush conference, and wrapping up a few websites.

Also, just a hint at what’s to come in the next few months… BTC is moving offices to a sweet new studio. Our intern will be hard at work painting walls and running cables. We’re in alpha on a whole new website with snazzy things like twitter integration (twitter.com/braintrust), and a better way to view our work (and easier to update so we don’t lag so bad), and we’ve got some killer work coming up in the fall. Busy…little…bees… indeed.

No, but it is sort of rainy today…

December is upon us (actually, upon us like 2 weeks ago), and the Christmas spirit is in full force here at BTC headquarters. Elves are working on animations for Soteria Productions, Santa’s whipping up a blog redesign for Q, and Mrs. Claus is baking cookies. Ones with pralines on them. And they are tasty. Especially warmed up in the microwave with ice cream on top.

But we digress… We’ll post those fruits soon (not the cookies), and we’re just about ready to unveil the new work section of the site, where we’ve got all sorts of stuff for you to see, nicely categorized and everything…

Merry Christmas for BTC!

A couple of quirky intros for some churches, as well as Fringe 2.0′s concert season opener. We’re hard at work on various other projects, and we’ve just now realized that people also want to see some design and web stuff we do, so we’re going to redesign the work page to feature more than just videos…

BrainTrust just wrapped production on the GoldRush conference, a meeting a students from all over the southeast US. BTC provided creative support in the form of live programming and producing, technical logistics, video production, marketing and merch design, and general great ideaness.

GoldRush this year was about “greater than”, where students were called to be a part of something greater than themselves. Namely: loving and serving the world.

There’s lots of terrible things going on out there in the world, and students have the biggest opportunity to make a difference. (no one told them they can’t do it yet). BTC was glad to be a part of it.

We’ll post some samples soon, but in the mean time, get ready for a big end of the summer. We’ve got websites in production, some video work going down, and several shirts to design. Hang on tight!

It’s official, BTC is celebrating its 1 Year Birthday Today! June 26th, 2007, BTC was born (officially anyhow). We’re celebrating here with some cheap champaign and some killer work going on.

In the last month, we’ve traveled the world (more on that soon as jet lag wears off), redesigned a website for Mixed Bag Media (good friends of ours), and begun production on GoldRush, a huge youth conference in Atlanta in a few weeks. For GoldRush, we’re providing the whole bag. T-Shirts, name badges, booklets, video production (over 15 video pieces of animation or live action), stage/lighting design, programming, creative consulting, etc. It’s going to be awesome.

Many of you may not know that BTC does more than video. We do web and print and merch and consulting and, well, you get the idea. If it’s creative, we take a crack at it. (we’ve even been known to manufacture a metal sign/sculpture for an office or two). We’re working on getting some of that work up on the site for you to see, so stay tuned for that…

Anyway, as we get older and enter our toddler years, we hope to keep getting younger. Young brains equal revolutionary ideas. Mix that with some experience, and you’ve got a chance to do something that not many other firms can do – provide new solutions that ACTUALLY WORK.

So light a candle, stick it in a cupcake, and sing a song. Happy B-Day BTC!

BTC is out of the office this week; we’re traveling to the left coast to do some creative consulting. Traveling with some representatives of The Bricks, an Atlanta student center focused on teens, we’ll be visiting a few other places know for reaching the youts:

1. The Vera Project, Seattle. A music and arts center run by youth, for youth.

2. MTV, Los Angeles. Feels good to name drop, doesn’t it? But if there’s anyone out there that knows how to steer youth culture….

BTC’s along to promote creative thought, ask questions, and cull some action items out of the trip. (and maybe catch the Red Sox/Mariner’s game…) In the end, we’ll come up with a nice report on what The Bricks can do to increase its impact in a creative way, and how it can use its creative programming to reach more students… and hopefully two fired up staff members to boot. Consulting is a little known service we offer, but we’re pretty proud of it.

We imagined that title being said in a really good announcer voice, with a nice rotating globe (in sepia-tone) with radio waves coming out from it. Just a thing we do…

BTC’s going global in June, with news coming in that we’ll be off to Dubai. We’ve been asked to partner with a local media school there, to teach editing and some post magic to some students in the community. The hope is that local students will begin sharing their stories via media with the city, and even one day get their own show aired in the Middle East. The next generation is coming, and BTC is somehow in a position of influence… look out.

Seriously though, we’re thrilled to be headed out there (supposedly it’ll only be in the low 110 degree range) to do something bigger than ourselves. More updates to come, as we go.

We just wrapped post production on the Global Outreach launch video for 2008. Global Outreach is a wonderful organization dedicated to the transformation of major world urban areas. Part of that work means getting people like you and me involved in making a difference across the globe. To that end, BTC produced a video to get the word out about increasing global urbanization, and the typical problems churches have in reaching these areas. All motion graphics (with some cool vintagy footage), with custom sound design (and BTC’s favorite voice artist Gille Bolde), produced in the wonders of HD to match GO’s new website and brand.

BTC loves projects that make a difference, so go check out GO, and consider what you can do. Also, check out the video, here.

Fringe Atlanta just had their last concert of their first season last night, and it was a resounding success. Congrats Fringe! Braintrust Creative produced the musician documentaries for this first season of Fringe, all shot in HD, composited with some nice motion tracking and organiky™ visuals.

For those of you not in the know yet, Fringe is a concert/art series in Atlanta that pairs chamber music (yes, that kind of chamber music) with DJs, art, short film, etc. Braintrust Creative partnered with Fringe to produce mini-documentaries on the musicians and their rehearsal process to air live before the musicians performed.

We here at BTC are looking forward to Fringe 2.0, set to happen in September. If you’re in the Atlanta area and want some of the best chamber music with some of the most non-chambery™ environment, check them out come fall. For reviews of the first season, visit the Fringe website. To check out the musician documentaries, visit our work page.

We here at BTC personally tried to pay as little attention as possible in school (i.e. Joan of Arc = Noah’s Wife), but Classworks might have reversed that. Educational software that makes kids like learning… weird, we know. But it’s true. So, BTC produced a testimonial video for Curriculum Advantage highlighting all sorts of fancy school types (superintendents, teachers, etc) and why they think that Classworks is the best. And you know what? After all those interviews, we think it’s pretty darn great too. We finally understand fractions and dangling participles.
